Lots of people ask how to get jobs and how to make connections and stuff. It’s pretty easy actually. Find the people that you want to work for and introduce yourself. Be polite, get to the point (photo editors have lots of email to go through), and for god’s sake don’t do generic mass emails!
Here is an actual email I sent yesterday.

NOTE: This advice applies when emailing photographers for assisting, too.
